It’s fun to think when you’re sitting out on your green well sculpture lawn how closer you feel to nature. The unfunny part is in keeping your lawn looking so great you might actually be damaging the very environment you’re enjoying as you sit warmed by the summer sun and sipping a cooling tea. The thing is you don’t have to give up the lush well sculpted lawn if you’re willing to look into green fertilizer.
Some fertilizers harm the environment because they contain too many pesticides or other chemicals that can be harmful to the environment. This doesn’t mean you have to do without the lawn you so enjoy, just that you need to find green substitutes and more green fertilizer solutions.
Some fertilizers also cause your lawn to dry out too quickly, which forces more water use. This isn’t good for environment, and in some parts of the U.S. this can even land you in hot water with the law. Some cities have allotted on so much water for lawn care and if this is exceeded you might be forced to pay hefty fines.
There are organic or green fertilizers that can help your lawn without causing damage to the environment. Manure, slurry, worm castings, peat, seaweed, or bat guano can do all the same things for your lawn as you’d see with a bag of chemical fertilizer.
You might have noticed areas around quarries or rock deposited that are lush and green. Just like people grass appreciates some minerals in the diet. There’s also the same benefit from using natural minerals like limestone and mine rock phosphate on your lawn for a green fertilizer solution.
You won’t be holding out of your lawn by using green fertilizers, instead you’ll find a few advantages over chemical alternatives. Organic fertilizer doesn’t have to be added as often, the cost is usually less and there’s less chance of ‘overdosing’ the lawn and burning it.
Even with chemical fertilizer the one’s with a slow release of ingredients such as nitrogen and this occurs naturally in organic or green fertilizers. In fact, research has shown over and over that while green fertilizer might take more time to mix and apply the results are better than with chemical based products.
